There are three identified phases of a Performance and Development Plan (PDP) - PLAN, IMPLEMENT and REVIEW.
Goal setting is an essential requirement of the PLAN phase. These goals are to be based on the identified needs of the teacher or leader, and must also align to the school vision and plan. These goals are to be decided by the individual, but in collaboration with a colleague or supervisor. The PDP is flexible and adjustments can be made to it during the year. It also contains information about how this goal will be achieved and what evidence will be collected to support this achievement.
